Elmo's Stuffed

Rachel has started to feed her Elmo. He was fed so much for breakfast that I'm sure he was stuffed for the rest of the day. This is a great way to keep Rachel busy while I'm working in the kitchen. I think she'll be ready for a kitchen of her own this year for Christmas.

Chip Off the Ol' Block

Rachel certainly takes after her dad in the humor department. She's a silly girl these days. Wes loves it. Enjoy the video.

The Trenches of Motherhood

Well, I’ve been in the trenches of motherhood this past week. Rachel got a stomach bug last Friday and now it has gone through the whole family. Wes was sick by Tuesday and I was sick by Wednesday. You know you've really experienced motherhood when your child throws up all over you in the middle of a restaurant. It was lovely, I scooped Rachel up and got to the car as quick as I could. All I could do was shake my head and laugh. We’re all on the road to recovery now and feeling better. I did manage to take some pictures of Rachel when she was feeling better. Enjoy.

Check out Rachel's teeth. She's working on her top middle tooth. She's moved to a real sippy cup now and wants the camera every time she sees it.

Rachel loves her stuffed animal "George" AKA Curious George. She goes and gets him every chance she gets. She is still loving her rocking chair and is rocking George while watching Sesame Street.

Bath time with Dad. Rachel's hair is really getting long and thick.

The World Keeps Getting Bigger

We went to the grocery store last week. When the three of us go I shop while Wes and Rachel walk around the store. Rachel loves to walk around the grocery store and see all the bright colors and different shapes. And Wes loves to follow her with his camera on his phone. Rachel's little world is getting bigger by the minute.

I love you Funny Face!

I always knew that I needed to marry someone that would make me laugh. Well, I certainly found that in Wes. Usually when Wes gets ready for bed he stands in front of the mirror and makes funny faces and creates these crazy characters. The faces are pretty funny but what always gets me is that he laughs (almost to tears) at himself. He has created some interesting characters over the years and I just happened to have the camera handy and filmed his latest. Wes often says he would be SO great on Saturday Night Live, I think he's absolutely right. Hope this brings some laughter your way.

Terry and Diane aren't you pround?

Happy Birthday Rachel!

We celebrate Rachel's birthday today, January 12th! She is a one year old. What a blessing she's been to our lives. It's hard to remember life without her. She is a very special little girl and we love her so much.
We had family over yesterday for Sunday lunch to help us wish Rachel a Happy Birthday. We had a big lunch (lasagna), cake, and then we opened presents. Thank you family for all your support this first year. It was really needed. We appreciate all of your help and guidance and we look forward to getting more of this for many years to come. :) Enjoy the slide show and videos.

Our friends the Carrons are in Germany now. They sent Rachel a farm toy that teaches in English (w/British accent) and German. Too Cool. Our girls will be so smart learning two languages this early. See if you can hear the German.

Rachel loves her rocking chair. She sat in it as we opened gifts. Every time a gift was open Rachel would say, "WOW." Just listen to her.

Riding in Style

It was time for a new car seat. Rachel is 20 pounds and will be one next week so we went ahead and bought her the next car seat she would need. I was so happyto get it, her infant car seat was getting a little too snug. Now Rachel can see everything, has plenty of room, and of course has a cup holder. I love it!!
