just some randomness

Just wanted to put in a few pictures of Randomness since we havent posted anything in a while.

at our pig pickin Rachel was dressed up like a cheerleader so she had to show off a little. This is my college roomates little girl. they were worn out and went to the back room and laid down together and giggled for about a hour.

Rachel goes to Zoo

We went to the Lazy 5 ranch towards the end of the day Saturday. For the record go earlier in the day. All the animals were full and didnt really care that we were there. It was fun either way. Spending time with the girls is always fun.

This time at the zoo Rachel enjoyed feeding the animals. She usually is a little to scared to let them eat from her hand. Well that all changed and she had a blast.

Rachel at the pumpkin patch

Here are a few pictures of Rachel out at the pumpkin patch

Rachel tried to pick up all the big pumpkins

Intervarsity Pig Pickin

aint that a perdy pig at 7 am

We were glad to see everyone that turned out for the first ECU intervarsity reunion. We had a good turn out. The temp started to fall so we had to huddle around the fire pit. It was funny to see all the new little faces that were decked out in their ECU attire. Thanks to everyone that came out.
Here are a few folks hanging out before it turned cold.

here are some of the kids running and playing in the back yard

Day Trips

While we were at the beach we drove to Morehead City for two day trips. We took one trip to Shackleford Banks. We collected seashells and ate lunch on the beach. We got several conch shells while we were there. Wes made friends with the birds...it didn't take long before we had about 20 fearless birds around us.

Our second day trip was to Cape Lookout. We took a ferry to the island and our hope on this trip was to see the Cape Lookout lighthouse and the wild horses that live on the islands. We lucked out and saw both. It was a hot day but Rachel was a real trooper and did great.

This horse went swimming after we passed him. You can only see his head in the picture below.

There were tons of jelly fish in the water and not far off the shores. Our tour guide caught one and showed it to us. This is called a "Cabbage Head" jelly fish. They really don't have a sting to them (so our tour guide said). He let us touch it and it felt like a marble. It was interesting...but I think I'll still stick to the rule that jelly fish sting and we shouldn't touch them.

The Beach 2011

Wes, Rachel, and I took a week off in July to head to the beach. We went to Topsail beach and had a great time. Rachel loved scooping up water and dumping it into a hole her dad had made. She did this for hours. She was worn out every night but had a great time. Thanks Uncle Mike and Pat for letting us stay at your place, we had a great vacation!

Big News

Well, we have big news...Rachel's going to be a big sister in early February. She is very excited and has been very sweet when talking about a baby brother or sister. It will be very exciting to see her reaction for her new baby brother or sister.
I took pictures of Rachel in this "Big Sister" t-shirt. We used the pictures to share the news with the grandparents. By the end of the "photo shoot" Rachel was getting pretty silly.

Rachel Rides a Jet Ski

Wes took Rachel out on the Jet Ski for the first time and Rachel loved it. She only wanted to go fast. They had a great time riding around the lake.

When they returned Rachel said, "I want to do that again!"

Easter

Nana gave Rachel her Easter basket full of goodies. It was a big hit!

Love that face!

Gone Fishin'

When we're at the lake, we tend to leave fishing poles in the water and check on them once in a while. When we got back from a boat ride we noticed that Rachel's pole had a bite. As they say pictures are worth a thousand words.....

Rachel looking into the water to see the fish.

She was very proud of her little fish.

Wes wanted her to kiss her fish but she was not going for that at all.
