Amazing Rescue

Saturday after my sewing class we headed up to the lake to see Nana and Pops. We had a great time visiting with them. We spent the night and Rachel sleep like a champ (which doesn't always happen when she's not in her bed).

Sunday afternoon, Wes, decided he would go fishing. He got his polls out, bated the hooks and began fishing. He leaned over to see if anything was on his hook and PLOP, his cell phone fell out of his shirt pocket into the lake. Wes has had the same sim card since I've known him. He has over 500 numbers stored on the card. He ran inside to find a bathing suit so that he could jump into the freezing water to rescue his phone. Watch the video to see the amazing rescue.

Sew Much Fun!

For Christmas, Wes gave me sewing lessons. I started my classes in January and had my last class on Saturday. My teacher was good and taught me a lot in a short amount of time. Our class project was to make pajama pants. I made my pajama pants for Wes. I must say, I feel pretty accomplished. I enjoyed having a project that really stretched my brain. I had a lot of fun and who knows I might take the second class in the spring/summer.

Quack, Quack, Quack

"Hey Rachel, what does a duck say?"

Elmo's Stuffed

Rachel has started to feed her Elmo. He was fed so much for breakfast that I'm sure he was stuffed for the rest of the day. This is a great way to keep Rachel busy while I'm working in the kitchen. I think she'll be ready for a kitchen of her own this year for Christmas.

Chip Off the Ol' Block

Rachel certainly takes after her dad in the humor department. She's a silly girl these days. Wes loves it. Enjoy the video.

The Trenches of Motherhood

Well, I’ve been in the trenches of motherhood this past week. Rachel got a stomach bug last Friday and now it has gone through the whole family. Wes was sick by Tuesday and I was sick by Wednesday. You know you've really experienced motherhood when your child throws up all over you in the middle of a restaurant. It was lovely, I scooped Rachel up and got to the car as quick as I could. All I could do was shake my head and laugh. We’re all on the road to recovery now and feeling better. I did manage to take some pictures of Rachel when she was feeling better. Enjoy.

Check out Rachel's teeth. She's working on her top middle tooth. She's moved to a real sippy cup now and wants the camera every time she sees it.

Rachel loves her stuffed animal "George" AKA Curious George. She goes and gets him every chance she gets. She is still loving her rocking chair and is rocking George while watching Sesame Street.

Bath time with Dad. Rachel's hair is really getting long and thick.
