She Did It!

Rachel did it! She sat-up from a lying down position. Last night and this morning when I went in Rachel's room she was sitting up in her crib. I guess now it won't be long before she's pulling up and climbing out. Life is really starting to get busy with her.

Rachel's big moment of sitting up
She's clapping for herself!

This is her OK, you've seen me mom now can you get me out look!

Crazy or What???

Isn't this a beautiful Christmas stocking!! Well guess what...it is a cross-stitching kit where you make the stocking yourself. Can you believe I bought this in hopes of having it finished by Christmas for Rachel!!! She might get it by the time she's 5! There's only like 500 colors on this thing. Wes said, "you can do it, just take it slow and do a square inch a day." What an encouraging husband. However, I know he's thinking I should place a bet on this project getting done. :) I'll keep you posted on my progress or lack there of.
Sincerely,
Martha LIZZIE Stewart

So I started last night! Not bad ugh..... pretty good start right.....
Well, when you look at it far away I haven't really done much at all. How many days 'til Christmas?

Dinner with the Abernethy's

Last night we met the Abernethy's/Carron's for dinner. Susan (my former roommate), her husband Paul, and daughter Madeline are moving to Germany for 2-3 years. :( Paul is in the Army. We hate to see them go but we know they are off on a wonderful adventure. I was saying to Wes on the way home from dinner, "....you know at this point Susan is family." We've known each other all our lives. It's so nice to be able to pick right back up from where we left off. She is a great friend and I'll miss her very much! Good Luck Carron's and keep in touch!

Won't be Long

Saturday, Wes moved Rachel's crib height down a couple of notches. I'm really glad he did because Rachel is starting to pull up on the side of her crib. Thankfully she can only do this if we put her in her crib sitting up. I know it won't be long before the crib will be moved completely down. I can't believe how quickly they grow and change.

Laundry Day

Friday's are usually laundry days. When Wes got home he helped Rachel into the laundry basket for some photos. :)

Nature Museum

Today my family and I went to the Nature Museum. My mom, sister and her two girls, and Rachel and I went. We had a good time. We saw a couple of different animals and had fun in the butterfly room. Enjoy the pictures.

Videos from Today

Rachel always gets excited when you clap your hands or when you clap her hands for her. Today she started clapping her hands all by herself. Watch and see how cute she is.

This evening while I was making dinner Wes was playing with Tyke and Rachel outside. This was the view from the kitchen window. These are the Good Ol' days I'm sure of it.

Special Delivery

I shop for diapers online at Diapers.com. I love having this come straight to my door. There prices are pretty good, somethings aren't a deal but others are. One nice thing, free shipping if you spend $50 or more, and that's not hard to do. They're also quick, I placed my order on Thursday and received it on Saturday. After I unpacked the box it made a great place for Rachel to sit and have her picture taken. Got to love them Pampers!!

Fun at the Lake

We loaded up the car Friday and headed to the lake to see Wes' family. They have recently purchased a place on High Rock Lake! Good Family times are in our near future. His parents have been working hard since Thursday to spruce the place up.
The weather was absolutely wonderful on Saturday. Can you beat mid 80's with a breeze in the middle of August? This was the first time I have been out in the sun since Rachel has been born. Ms. Lilly White, Rachel, (I'm not far behind her hahaha) can't handle to much sun so while she took a nap, I tried to take full advantage of it. Wes and I got on some rafts and floated around. Of course that was short lived because Wes said it was boring. So instead of floating around, he tried to catch fish with his bare hands and that was extremely boring watching him. Wes' father came down about this time and we started to fish. We didn't catch anything but it was fun trying. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!
Hey Parsons- We came back up on Sunday but somehow missed seeing you! HAHAHA

What's For Dinner?

Again, Wes and I are always looking for things to do with Rachel after 7:00 pm. Last night we were cleaning up the kitchen and washing some pots. Rachel could not be pacified with any of her toys so we decided to involve her in the clean up process...hey it's never to early to learn how to clean up right?

Well again our goal was met. Rachel was entertained, we cleaned the kitchen, and we made it to 8:00 bed time! PTL!

What a Weekend

This weekend was a busy one. We entertained lots of family and friends. Wes' sister and niece came to town to visit this weekend. On Saturday they ran in a 5k race downtown and then went to the Panther's Fan day. They got tons of autographs and seemed to have a great time. We always like eating at our favorite restaurant, Friendly's. They have great greasy food and ice cream. We were glad Kim and Alyssa could come!

Wes and Alyssa
Saturday I had a couple of bridal showers to go to. After getting ready, I passed my baby off to her daddy for the day. It was nice knowing that Rachel was in such good care. Wes said, "she did great and so did he." The showers were great!

Mommy and Rachel

Sunday we went to my mom's house to spend time with my two sisters and there children. This was the first time we had all been together since Christmas last year. Rachel had all her cousins and aunts together at the same time, that was a first for her. It was a bit WILD with 5 children under the age of 5. I laughed and thought don't we need a licence to have this many children in a house at the same time?

Poor Ryan the only boy in a house of 6 girls!

Rachel saw all her cousins running and playing. I think she wants to join them.
Check out our little wall flower!

My mom has a house that is about 2500 sq. feet. Somehow we all managed to play in about 1 sq. foot of it after dinner. In case you're counting two children are on the floor.

Wes started a game of Simon Says with the kids. They enjoyed giving commands and having everyone do what they said.

Ryan was so glad to see another guy in the house. He's been surrounded by girls since Wednesday. He latched onto Wes pretty quickly. He'll be happy to see his daddy when he gets home!

Here they all are. (L-R) Caroline age 5, Catherine age 3, Ryan age 2, Sophia age 1, and Rachel age 6 months.

Check out the video of Simon Says.
