Circle Time

Rachel loves school and now when she's at home she pretends to play school by doing "Circle Time." I have walked in her room now, twice, to find all her dolls and animals in a semi-circle in front of her and her singing and talking to them. I ran and got my camera to capture this great moment.

Snowy Weekend and Playground Fun

We had the greatest snow this past weekend. It came so quickly, we got about 3 inches in 3 hours it canceled all our plans Friday night but by Saturday afternoon all the snow had melted. Wes took care of Rachel Saturday so that I could go to a baby shower. They played in the snow and on the playground. I met up with them at the playground it was cold!

Daddy's Girl

Rachel and Daddy were being silly as they got ready for bedtime.
Daddy was lathering Rachel up with lotion.

Little People

Rachel has really enjoyed playing with her Fisher Price Little People. She got several things for Christmas and her Birthday. We love to pull out all the people on Wednesdays and Fridays (our days off). Her imagination is really starting to take off.

The Circus

It's really hard to believe that 8 years ago Wes and I went on our first date....to the circus! Wes was in town playing in an Ultimate Frisbee tournament and called me up to see if I would like to do something. After exploring our options we both settled on going to see the circus. We didn't have tickets but were able to walk right up to the box office and get tickets. It is a great date place. It's so loud that you can talk though the whole performance, not like a movie. The corny thing that we always mention is that we shared a snow cone in a souvenir clown cup (which I still have). So all that to say, the Circus was in town and at the last minute we decided to go and take Rachel. After all the weather has been icy, I'm sure no one will be there....haha. Well most of Charlotte showed up for the circus. We paid $40.00 to sit above the tight rope :) Cotton Candy (MY FAVORITE) was being sold with a circus souvenir hat this year and cost $12.00. I did not eat cotton candy, which my tongue hated but my hips appreciated. We got to our seats and watched the circus, Rachel did great and really enjoyed it. However, we had really talked to her about seeing the elephants. So once the elephants came and danced for maybe 10 minutes, Rachel had seen enough and was ready to go. We left about 10 minutes early which helped us to beat the crowd. It was funny to think 8 years earlier I was on my first date with my husband and now we had just taken our little Rachel to see her first circus. Fun times!

Snowy Weekend

Friday afternoon is started snowing. We were so excited to finally see snow. It started sticking around night fall and then it sleeted and snowed all night for a nice 1-2 inches. It wasn't much, but it was enough to play in. We got Rachel out on Saturday to play she loved it and never once said she was cold although she had to have been. She built two snowmen with her daddy and used raisins (her favorite) to make the face. The snow has now turned to ice you can step on it without sinking. Our driveway is an ice skating rink. School was canceled for Monday but Wes still managed to get out the door by 7:30. Hope he stays warm and safe. "They're" calling for sleet on Tuesday and another snow shower this weekend. By then I might be ready for spring!
