Our second day trip was to Cape Lookout. We took a ferry to the island and our hope on this trip was to see the Cape Lookout lighthouse and the wild horses that live on the islands. We lucked out and saw both. It was a hot day but Rachel was a real trooper and did great.


This horse went swimming after we passed him. You can only see his head in the picture below.


There were tons of jelly fish in the water and not far off the shores. Our tour guide caught one and showed it to us. This is called a "Cabbage Head" jelly fish. They really don't have a sting to them (so our tour guide said). He let us touch it and it felt like a marble. It was interesting...but I think I'll still stick to the rule that jelly fish sting and we shouldn't touch them.
